He said he wants to recruit kids who take care of business away from the field. He said he wants to recruit Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the Baltimore-Washington area. So he has tried and will continue to try to localize things. And he said the place is not as hard a sell as people might think.

He emphasizes that he and his staff have an obligation to aid the players off the field, and to that end the coaches helped raise money the $6 Million Clara Bell Smith Academic Athletic Center. We want to have a consistent Top 25 program here and we want to do it with quality guys who want to get an education, Saban said. The way things are right now, everybody focuses on winning and losing, but it still counts how you play the game.
